Report Frontline

Bhubaneswar: The South West Monsoon may enter South Odisha by June 10 due to southwest air flow from the Arabian Sea, the Center for Environment and Climate (CEC) has informed.

Dr. Sharat Chandra Sahu, director of CEC, said that Monsoon will touch some districts of Maharashtra, Telangana and South Odisha by June 9 and 10 due to the influence of southwest air flow. As the monsoon current of the Arabian Sea is getting stronger, the Bay of Bengal branch is likely to strengthen and affect the states of Odisha and East India from June 15, said Dr. Sahu.

He said that until June 10, the temperature in the interior districts of Odisha will be less than 42 degrees and the coastal areas will be less than 40 degrees or moderate and the weather will be warm and humid. If the arrival of monsoon is delayed, then between June 12 and 16, the day temperature in West Odisha districts may be 45 degrees Celsius and in South Odisha districts it may be up to 40 degrees Celsius. At this time, Dr. Sahu said that there is a possibility of scattered rains in different parts of the state, while the flow may be more in the coastal areas.
