Bhubaneswar: Second phase voting today. Voting will be held today in Bargarh, Balangir, Kandhamal, Aska, Sundargarh. The people will choose the leader for 5 Lok Sabha and 35 assembly seats. More than 79 thousand voters will choose the leader of their choice in a total of 9148 polling stations. 40 leaders will be selected for a total of 40 seats in the election field, while the fate of 305 candidates will be tested.
There are 40 candidates in 5 Lok Sabha seats while 265 people are competing for 35 seats in the Legislative Assembly. BJD Supreme Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik will vote in Kantabanji and Hinjili today. Chief Election Officer Nikunja Dhal informed that 20 percent of the centers are sensitive. Polling in sensitive seats will begin at 7 am and end at 4 pm. In all other booths, polling will end at 6 pm while some booths will end at 5 pm.
According to the information of the Chief Election Officer, out of total 9148 booths, about 20% booths are Naxal-affected areas and sensitive booths, so extensive security arrangements have been made there. Polling officers and voters will be monitored by web screening in 60% booths. A total of 102 companies have passed the CPF. It has been decided that voting will be held in 933 booths from 7 am to 5 pm and in 1689 booths from 7 am to 4 pm.
