New Delhi: Same-sex marriage has been recognized as legal in Thailand. The bill was passed in the Thai Parliament on Tuesday. 130 MPs voted in favor while 4 voted against. Thailand is the first country in South East Asia to take this step. Now this bill has been sent to King Mahawajiralongkorn for approval. In October this year, the first legal same-sex marriage will be held in the presence of the king. For 20 years, it was claimed to recognize this marriage.

The new law allows anyone over the age of 18 to marry same-sex couples. After Taiwan and Nepal, Thailand is the third country in Asia to recognize same-sex marriage. Homosexuality is not a crime in India. So far marriage has not been enacted.
