Sarojini Bishi

Chennai: Chennai Super Kings captain Rituraj Gaekwad scored an impressive century and broke Mahendra Singh Dhoni’s record in the current IPL on Tuesday. He has set this record against Lucknow Super Giants. Rituraj scored the 8th overall in the IPL and became the first captain from Chennai. Mahendra Singh Dhoni scored 84 runs before him.

Captains who scored hundreds in IPL: KL Rahul scored one for Punjab Kings and 2 for Lucknow. Sunrisers Hyderabad’s David Warner, Delhi Daredevils’ Virender Sehwag, Rajasthan Royals’ Sanju Samson, RCB’s Virat Kohli 5 hundreds, Kings XI Punjab’s Adam Gilchrist and Mumbai Indians’ Sachin Tendulkar have achieved this success. Instead of Rituraj’s brilliant batting, Lucknow set a target of 211 runs against Chennai.
