Kandhamal: Sani polling is going on in booth number 26 and 28 of Kandhamal Assembly. 4 magistrates are employed in 2 booths for election management. Voting has started peacefully from 7 am. Voting will continue till 4 pm. A large number of police forces have also died.
According to the information, in two booths of Kantamal constituency, the voters were asked to vote with the conch sign. BJP candidate Kanhei Charan Dang demanded for re-polling when there was tension among the voters. Polling was held in Kandhamal parliamentary constituency on 20th. However, the Election Commission has taken a decision after receiving complaints about the polling in these two booths.
A delegation of BJP led by former BJP state president Sameer Mohanty appealed to the Chief Electoral Officer for re-polling. The party alleged that during the second phase of polling in the state on May 20, booths 26 and 29 of this constituency were occupied by BJD workers and their hired goons.
