Bhubaneswar: Southwest Monsoon has touched Andhra Pradesh coast today. Coastal Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, West Central and some areas of North West Bay of Bengal have been advanced. Weather is favorable in North Chhattisgarh and some states including Odisha. As of today, the Indian Meteorological Department has informed about the active monsoon in some areas of Karnataka, Rayalaseema, Coastal Andhra Pradesh, Telangana.
Due to the possibility of rain in different parts of the state for the next 6 days, the temperature is expected to drop slightly. Normally monsoon air enters Odisha 10 days after touching Kerala. However, according to the IMD estimates, there is a possibility of monsoon entering Odisha two days before the scheduled time. The Regional Meteorological Center has predicted that the monsoon will arrive in the next 4 to 5 days, i.e. June 8. However, there will be rain in the state on 5th and 6th. There will be rain in various places including South Odisha and coastal Odisha.
On the other hand, there has been rain in various parts of the state due to seasonal influence. According to the information of the weather center, in the next 24 hours, a warning has been issued about rainfall in Nabarangpur, Koraput, Rayagada, Nayagarh, Ganjam, Gajapati, Kalahandi, Khordha, Balasore, Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar and Kandhamal districts. On the 6th, South Odisha and adjoining districts are likely to experience wind speed of 30 to 40 km per hour with strong winds, the Meteorological Center said. On the other hand, summer continues in the state. Yesterday, the maximum day temperature was recorded in Titilagarh at 42.5 degrees Celsius.
