GODA FUNKWAL TOOK CHARGE AS THE GENERAL MANAGER OF THE EAST COAST RAILWAY

Bhubaneswar: Prameswar Funkwal, IRMS, has taken charge as the General Manager of East Coast Railway. He is an ex-student of IIT Kanpur and an Indian Railway Service of Engineers (IRSE) 1988 batch officer. With a distinguished career spanning over a decade, he has held many important posts like DRM/Rajkot, ADRM/Ahmedabad, Chairman/RRB and Executive Director/RDSO.

Before joining East Coast Railway, he was working as Principal Chief Engineer in Western Railway, Mumbai.

During his tenure at RDSO, he was instrumental in introducing innovative technologies in the track and bridge sector to increase speed. Apart from railway engineering, he has vast experience in human resource work, research and design and public administration. He has published many research papers in international journals on track, bridge and environmental engineering.

He presented research papers at International Heavy Hull Association (IHA) conferences held in Beijing (China), Calgary (Canada) and New Delhi. He has visited Sweden, Denmark, France, Germany, China, Canada, Malaysia, Singapore and Italy and done various training and studies. Mr. Funkwal has a deep interest in literature and some of his poems have been published in contemporary Hindi literary journals.
