Former Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik will take oath as an MLA for the first time today

Bhubaneswar: On June 18 and 19, the newly elected MLAs of the 17th Assembly will take oath for two days. Ranendra Pratap will make all MLAs take the oath of office. However, BJD President and former Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik will take oath as an MLA for the first time.

Earlier, Naveen Patnaik took the oath of office and secrecy 5 times as Chief Minister. Today (Tuesday) and tomorrow (Wednesday) the oath taking of MLAs will be held. The MLAs who won the 2024 general election will take oath in the assembly on Tuesday and Wednesday. A total of 146 MLAs will take oath in this oath taking ceremony.

Naveen Patnaik can take oath as an MLA this morning. New speaker election will be held on 20th. The oath taking of MLAs will be completed before the Speaker election. Similarly, it is known that the nomination papers will be submitted for the election of the new speaker on 19th.
