Baleshwar: It is expensive to embezzle allowance money of ward members. The Panchayat Executive Officer (PEO) was detained overnight by the ward members. Such a rare incident happened in Mathani Panchayat under Basta Block of Balasore District.
According to the news, the ward members of Mathani Panchayat did not get their allowance for 7 months and asked Panchayat Executive Officer Bhagat Biswal. Bhagwat Biswal could not give any satisfactory answer. And there was an argument between the ward member and the Panchayat Executive Officer.
The members of the ward, who had embezzled money, filed a complaint and locked him in the panchayat office from yesterday evening. So far there is no permanent solution to this incident.
