New Delhi: The CBI has arrested former Telangana Chief Minister Kesari’s daughter and BRS leader K. Kavitha in connection with the Delhi unemployment policy corruption case. Bharat Rashta Samiti (BRS) leader K Kavitha is currently in judicial custody. On Tuesday, April 9, the court extended Kavitha’s bail till April 23. He was produced in court after the period of judicial custody was over.
On April 8, the court refused to grant interim bail to Kavitha. The court passed this verdict after the ED claimed that Kavitha was trying to destroy evidence and put pressure on witnesses. However, the ED has alleged that K Kabita is a member of the South Group involved in the Delhi Abkari corruption case.
The ED said that K. Kavitha is an important member of the South Group who is accused of paying a bribe of Rs 100 crore to Delhi’s ruling Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) to get a bigger stake in the liquor license.
Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and former Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia are in jail in the money laundering case related to the Delhi liquor corruption policy. The Central Investigation Agency has claimed that there is corruption in the formulation and implementation of the liquor policy. The ED has named Kejriwal, national coordinator of APP, as the main conspirator in the incident and said that many party leaders and ministers were also involved. On the other hand, K Kavita rejected all these allegations.
