Balasore: In Balasore district, two groups are facing each other and the chaos has become intense. 10 people, including 5 police personnel, were injured by stones, sticks and glass bottles. Many two-wheelers and four-wheelers were destroyed along with the furniture of people’s houses. A curfew has been issued in the entire city as the situation is unbearable. Due to curfew restrictions, supermarkets, schools and colleges will be closed. The police administration appealed to people not to leave their homes. According to the information, the clash has spread to Golapokhari, Motiganj, Cinema Chowk areas of the city late at night. On Monday afternoon, some families in the local area expressed their displeasure after seeing red blood flowing in the drain on the side of the main road in Sunhat. Suspicious, they went to the drain, searched for the place from where the blood was being drawn, and did hohalla. As a result, there was a confrontation between the two groups.
The miscreants broke into various villages and pelted people’s houses with stones and set fire to them and vandalized the streets. The police opened fire to control the situation. Eastern Police IG Dr. Deepak Kumar and SP Sagarika Nath went to the spot and assessed the situation, while an indefinite curfew was issued in Baleshwar. Baleshwar SP has informed about the imposition of curfew to control the situation.
