Bhubaneswar: The 76th Foundation Day of the capital Bhubaneswar has been celebrated under the joint support of the State Information and Public Relations Department, the Bhubaneswar Metropolitan Corporation and the Capital Foundation Day Celebration Committee.
In the beginning of this festival, Chief Secretary Pradeep Kumar Jena joined as the chief guest and laid flowers at the capital stone plaque in front of the Odisha legislature and hoisted the flag of the capital in the program organized here. State Director General of Police Arun Kumar Shadangi, Commissioner of Police, Bhubaneswar-Cuttack Sanjeev Panda, Bhubaneswar Development Authority Deputy Commissioner Balwant Singh, Director Information and Public Relations Saroj Kumar Samal, District Magistrate, Khordha Chanchal Rana, Bhubaneswar DCP Prattik Singh were the guests of honor on the occasion. The President of the Day Celebration Committee Mr. Pradosh Patnaik, Vice President Mr. Pradyumna Kumar Mohanty and General Editor Sanath Mishra Magar attended.
Utkal Janani Sangeet was performed on this occasion. In the beginning, Bhubaneswar Metropolitan Corporation Commissioner Mr. Rajesh Prabhakar Patil welcomed all the guests. Later, the guests offered floral tributes at the capital’s stone plaque.
Later, under the supervision of Surya Ranjan Mohanty, Joint Director, Department of Information and Public Relations, this day was held this morning in collaboration with the State Information and Public Relations Department and the Bhubaneswar Metropolitan Corporation. And the exhibition of new photographs was inaugurated by Chief Secretary Mr. Jena.
In the evening on the occasion of Capital Foundation Day, a cultural program was held by the Department of Orody, Literature and Culture. Additional Chief Administrative Secretary, Department of Revenue and Disaster Management, Forest, Environment and Climate Change Satyabrat Sahu inaugurated the program by lighting the lamp as the chief guest. Commissioner of Bhubaneswar Metropolitan Corporation, Director of Information and Public Affairs Department, District Magistrate, Khurda, BMC Additional Commissioner Shubhendu Kumar Sahu, Director of Information and Public Affairs Department (Commercial) Surendra Nath Parida, staff of the Capital Foundation Day Celebration Committee were present as guests of honour. Under the direction of Swadhanamanya music director and vocalists Prem Anand and Prashant Padhi, hymns and sugam songs were performed by Prathimarekha Padhi, Bishnumohan Kavi, Swastik Padhi and Ipsita Panda and Sambalali folk dance by Shankar Behera and his colleagues from Loisinghar district of Balangir.
On this day, all the major government offices of the capital, including the stone plaque at Dhansabha Saudh, were decorated with lights on behalf of the State Information and Public Relations Department, Odisha Language, Literature and Culture Department, Bhubaneswar Metropolitan Corporation, Purta Department, BDA. Wreaths were also placed on the statues of various heroes in the city, including the foundation plaque of the capital city. Capital Inauguration Day Toran was displayed in different places of capital Bhubaneswar. During the entire program, Deputy Director of Information and Public Relations Department Sucheta Priyadharini and Biswajit Sabhariar Singh coordinated the program.
