New Delhi: Today is the 134th birth anniversary of Indian Constitution Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar. Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar was born on 14 April 1891 in a noble family of Madhya Pradesh. Many people know him as Babasaheb.
After graduating from Elphinstone College, Bombay University, Ambedkar studied economics at Columbia University and the London School of Economics. He then trained in law at Gray’s Inn in London. In his early career he was an economist, professor and lawyer.
Babasaheb’s contribution in the field of social justice and equality was one of the greatest. He made continuous efforts for the betterment of the downtrodden community. Bhimrao dedicated his life to raising his voice against caste system and for equality in education and employment opportunities.
Bhimrao fought for the elimination of social discrimination against Dalits, for the rights of women and workers. He has gained fame as a jurist, economist, politician and social reformer besides the founder of the Indian Constitution.
On this occasion, President Draupadi Murmu and Prime Minister Narendra Modi paid tributes.
