Wimbledon Tennis: Alcaraz retains title after losing to Djokovic

London: Spain’s Carlos Alcaraz has retained the Wimbledon tennis tournament men’s singles title. In the title match, he defeated Serbia’s Novak Djokovic 6-2, 6-2 and 7-6. Alcaraz became the sixth player to retain both the French Open and Wimbledon titles. He defeated Djokovic in all three sets. This is the fourth Grand Slam title of his career. On the contrary, Djokovic has failed to win the Wimbledon title for the 8th time.

After winning the first 2 sets easily, Djokovic struggled a bit in the third set. Alcaraz won the set in a tiebreaker and became the champion. This year, Djokovic underwent surgery after recovering from injury. He expressed satisfaction with his performance at Wimbledon.
