VVPAT VERIFICATION APPLICATION REJECTED, MODI SLAMS BALLOT BOX APPLICANTS

New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi has criticized the anti-India Mint after the Supreme Court’s verdict on post-voting vivipat scrutiny. He said that the court’s verdict is a big defeat for the opposition party.

At a rally in Bihar, he criticized the opposition for casting doubt on Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs), saying that while the world praises the progress of India’s democratic process and professional elections, the opposition is maligning EVMs for selfish gains.

Highlighting the strength of Indian democracy and the Constitution, Modi termed the Supreme Court’s verdict as a decisive blow to those who undermined the electoral system and ensured the end of the ballot paper system. Notably, the Supreme Court dismissed the petition for cross-verification of complete EVM-VVPAT votes.
