Cuttack: Virendra Prasad of Raghunathpur area of Jagatsinghpur district has passed away after donating two people. Two people who are undergoing treatment at the Cuttack Large Medical Center have got a new life for him.
According to the information, Virendra was admitted to the ICU of Cuttack SCB Medical Center due to an accident on July 14th. There the doctors declared him brain dead. Later his family members expressed their wish for Virendra’s organ donation. On the orders of SCB Superintendent Prof. Dr. Sudhanshu Shekhar Mishra, Virendra’s kidney was removed after declaring him brain dead in a legal process in collaboration with SCB Medical Center’s Urology and Nephrology Department.
One of Virendra’s kidneys was transplanted into a patient at SCB while the other kidney was transplanted into another person undergoing treatment at AIIMS, Bhubaneswar. Late yesterday, two people were successfully transplanted with both kidneys.
