This is my last election, I will not contest future elections: Niranjan Patnaik

Sarojini Bishi

Bhubaneswar: In the 2024 election, BJP has got majority in Odisha. This time BJP will form the government in the state. On the other hand, Congress has not performed well this time either. Meanwhile, Congress candidate Niranjan Patnaik has reacted after being defeated from Bhandaripokhari. He said ‘this is my last election, I will not contest future elections’.

Former PCC president and Bhandaripokhari MLA candidate Niranjan Patnaik has expressed in a press message that I have been with the Congress since the beginning of my long political life. Never thought of changing party for power or interest. I am indebted to the people of Bhandaripokhiri for the love and respect they have given me even though they could not win me over. This time I wanted not to contest the election, but because of the request of the people of Bhandaripokhari, I contested this election. Bhandaripokhri is a problematic constituency and has not been developed in many areas. Thinking about development, I decided to contest the elections.

It respects the people’s opinion in the election and has decided not to participate in vote politics in the future. But Niranjan Patnaik said that he will make all efforts for the development of the people of Odisha. Similarly, I congratulate Sanjeev Babu, who has been elected as an MLA in this election, and hope that he will make efforts for the benefit of the people of Bhandaripokhri Constituency, said Niranjan Patnaik.
