New Delhi: Terrible accident in Baltimore Harbor in America. A bridge collapsed in a ship collision last night. Some vehicles and people on the bridge fell into the river. Many people are feared to have died in this incident. While some were rescued yesterday, rescue operations are still ongoing. Many missing persons are still missing.
The Singaporean flag is attached to the ship that hit the pole. The ship was going to Colombo, the capital of Sri Lanka. It had 22 crew members. All these members are found to be Indians. The shipping company said that everyone is safe.
Yesterday, after the ship hit the bridge, it caught fire. It is reported that while the bridge was heavily damaged, all the crew members survived.
The 2.6 km long 4-lane Francis Scott Bridge was over the Palko River. It was operational from 1977. More than 11 million people travel in it every year. This bridge is known as one of the most important bridges in America.
