New Delhi: President Draupadi Murmu inaugurated the Governor’s Conference at President Bhawan. The conference will discuss various issues that play an important role in strengthening Centre-State relations and promoting welfare schemes for common people. Prime Minister Narendra Modi attended the governors’ conference chaired by President Draupadi Murmu. Vice President and Union Home Minister were also present in this opening session with him.
After the inauguration of the conference and the implementation of three new laws related to criminal justice, a new era of justice system has started in the country. President Draupadi Murmu said that the change in our thinking is evident from the names of laws like the Indian Justice Code, Indian Civil Protection Code and Indian Witness Act. He further said, “For the smooth running of the democracy, various central agencies must work in all the states with good coordination.” The President has advised the governors to think about how they can promote this reconciliation as constitutional principal of the respective states.
The President expressed confidence that all the governors will continue to contribute to the service and welfare of the people and will do justice to the oath taken by them. Various sessions will be organized in this conference. In which the governor’s sub-group will deliberate on each agenda item. Apart from the governor, the ministers and officials of the relevant ministries will also attend this session. In the final session tomorrow, the views and suggestions of the sub-groups will be presented before the President, Vice President, Prime Minister and other participants.
