THE NUMBER OF SENIOR MPS IN LOK SABHA IS INCREASING

New Delhi: Elections are going on in India now. Voters are asserting their rights in this great democracy. However, since independence, the average age of MPs in the country has been increasing. According to the report, the average age of MPs in the 17th Lok Sabha is 55.5. Which is the maximum. In other words, the number of senior MPs in the country is increasing. It was 46.5 in the first Lok Sabha election. After that it was 46.7 and 49.4. In 1952, he was the youngest MP. At that time, there were 93 MPs between the ages of 51 and 55. There was only one MP above 71 years of age. In the 16th Lok Sabha, MPs under 40 years of age were 8 percent. Now it has increased to 12 percent.

The 17th Lok Sabha was held in 2019. In this, 397 MPs won the National Party and reached the Lok Sabha. There were 52 Congress MPs in it. The average age of current Lok Sabha MP is 55.5 years. The average age of the 12th Lok Sabha MP of 1998 was 46.4. L. Advani (86 years) was the oldest MP. 2.63 crore new voters will vote for the first time in the 2024 election. The number of voters in the country has reached 96.88 crore.
