New Delhi: A big decision of the central government has come amid the ongoing conflict between the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Organization (RSS) and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). The Department of Personnel and Training has issued an order removing the ban on government employees participating in all activities of the National Self-Servant Organization (RSS).
Government employees will now be included in the RSS program, the Modi government removed the 58-year-old restriction. According to the previous central government, the orders of 1966, 1970 and 1980 have been amended, which imposes severe penalties on government employees in RSS branches and other activities along with some other institutions.
The former Congress government used to prevent government employees from attending RSS programs from time to time. A system was also implemented to severely punish employees if they were involved in RSS activities. Due to this, many government employees have been deprived of engaging in the work of the National Self-Servant Organizations, keeping in view the pension benefits etc. after retirement.
On the other hand, many state governments, including Madhya Pradesh, canceled the order. But even after that it remained legal at the federal government level. In this case, a case was pending in Indore court in which the court also sought the opinion of the central government. However, due to the 58-year-old ban, many government employees avoided participating in the Rastriya Self-Servant Organization program after getting pension benefits etc.
