Bhubaneswar: Former minister and senior Congress leader Dambarudhar Ulaka passed away. He passed away at the age of 86. It has been reported that he died in a private hospital in Bhubaneswar. Dambarudhar was elected seven times as an MLA from Rayagada district Bissam Cuttack on behalf of the Congress. The shadow of mourning has been played in the political circles after the demise of Ulaka of Dambarudhar.
According to information, Ulaka of Dambarudhar was being treated in a private hospital in Bhubaneswar due to illness. Three daughters, a son and a wife were present at the time of his death. However, it has been informed that his body will be taken to the Congress building in Bhubaneswar and then to his residence in Kolanra block Bankili, Rayagada district.
Dambarudhar Ulaka also held the posts of Minister of Odisha Home Department and Forest Department, Mining Department, Urban Development Department and Water and Sanitation Department. In 1974, for the first time, Dambarudhar was elected to the Legislative Assembly as an MLA from Rayagada District BissamCuttack on a Congress ticket. Later he was elected to the Legislative Assembly in 1977, 1980, 1985, 1995, 2004 and 2009.
