Nuapada: Wildlife hunting and its traders are increasing. In the last two to three years in Nuapada district, every two to three months, the businessmen are arrested and taken to court. In the past two months, the STF team caught the traders during the sale of tiger skins in Khadiyal town, and raided the forest during the sale of tiger skins near Sinapali Range Kuruluvata village late on Sunday night and arrested three people and prosecuted them in court.
On receiving information from special sources, Khadial DFO Aziz Khan led by Mohammad Mustafa Saliha on behalf of Sinapali Forest Department and Chhattisgarh Sitandi Reserve Forest Department raided Kurulubhata village of Kendumunda Panchayat. During the raid, three accused were arrested and a collared tiger skin and three mobile phones were seized from them and investigation was going on.
Suspecting the involvement of others, their names have been withheld. Khadiyal DFO informed the media that all the accused are from Sinapali area, they were arrested and prosecuted and further investigation was conducted.
