Harabhanga: The Harabhanga-Dhalpur Jagannathsadak road, which carries the Buddhist tradition, creates the illusion of a rugged hilly road. Recently, the deplorable condition of the road has caused intense dissatisfaction in the minds of the public. Due to the rain, the road has turned into a pothole. It is difficult to even walk on the road. But the department’s inaction towards the resurfacing of this road has become a reason for dissatisfaction. As a result, the road has become a dead end for the thousands of people who depend on this road in the morning.
The lack of attention of the district administration and political leaders towards the distance of the road connecting Harabhanga to Dhalpur Mahanadi Setu seems like an ancient attitude in the real digital age. It is revealed that in the last three/four years, the 19 km long road from Harabhanga to Dhalpur was constructed by the Rural Development Department at a cost of crores of rupees. Since the construction work of this road was very poor, within six months of the construction of the road, mud was falling from different places.
Despite the repeated complaints of the local people, the road has turned into a pothole since a few years ago due to the negligence of the departmental authorities. The importance of Harabhanga-Dhalpur Jagannathsadkar has increased after the completion of the construction of the Dhalpur-Athamallik bridge over the river at Kharshankulei in Dhalpur. The road has been opened for transit to Boudh district along with Angul district. After the construction of Serampak bridge, the traffic is increasing on both sides. In addition to this, trade and commerce have been very helpful in providing medical treatment to the villagers of Mahadikugaba. However, the 19 km long road from Harabhanga to Dhalpur connecting the bridge has become deplorable due to the large number of sand-laden heavy traffic. . Especially during river floods, communication is disrupted due to flood water on this road. In view of this, there is a general demand for the construction of a sustainable road from Harabhanga to Dhalpur. Along with this, there is a general demand to build an embankment from Harabhanga to Dhalpur to protect the coast of the river. In this regard, Boudh district mayor is generally demanding to pay special attention. In this connection, a proposal has been made to construct a new road after asking the divisional engineer Pachinan Sahu. He said that if the proposal is approved, it will be implemented.
