SUPREME COURT’S LANDMARK JUDGMENT ON ADVERTISING; CELEBRITIES AND INFLUENCERS WILL BE RESPONSIBLE

New Delhi: ‘Advertising celebrities and influencers will also be held accountable for advertising’. The Supreme Court has said something like this. If the advertisement of any product or service is found to be misleading, then the company and the celebrities and social media influencers promoting it will be equally liable.

The Supreme Court made such comments while hearing the misleading advertisement case published by Baba Ramdev’s Patanjali Ayurveda. Along with this, he expressed his anger on the Indian Medical Association. Today the Supreme Court has said something like this on the issue of misleading advertisement. If the advertisement of any product or service is found to be misleading, then the company and the celebrities and social media influencers promoting it will be equally liable. Similarly, the Supreme Court has ordered that the broadcasting company will issue a declaration before showing such advertisement.
