SEIZE OF 18 LAKH WORTH OF KHAIR WOOD EXPORTED TO ARUNACHAL PRADESH

Bargarh: A big success for the forest department. The forest department has seize a truck loaded with khair wood and arrested a person. Under the direction of T. Ashok Kumar, Regional Chief Forest Conservator of Sambalpur Forest and Bargarh Forest Officer Vikram Dev Patnaik, a truck loaded with timber has been seize from National Highway-53 at Atabira under Bargarh forest area.

The khairwood loaded in the truck was being loaded from Dunguripali in Subarnapur district and was being transported to Himachal Pradesh via Sambalpur-Jharsuguda route. The estimated value of the wood will be 18 lakh rupees while 18 tons of khair wood is loaded in the truck. However, during the attack, Bargarh Assistant Conservator of Forest Rajendra Bhoi and other forest personnel were involved.

However, while a case has been registered in Bargarh forest area, the truck driver Ashok Mudha has been arrested and the Forest Department has informed that more investigation is going on.
