Rath yatra in Manchester, England

Bhubaneswar: Ride on foreign soil. In the fourth Rath yatra celebration in Manchester, the third largest city of England, this year’s Rath yatra organized by the Northwest Odisha Society aimed to meet 500 Odia and non-Odia devotees. On this occasion, Manchester Gorton MP Afzal Shaw and the famous spiritual speaker from India Devi Chitralekha Ji joined as guests.

Among the cultural programs organized on the occasion were Sumadhur Bhajan performed by eminent musicians Rakesh Joshi and Dinesh Kochhar and a captivating Odissi dance by Ms. Tanisha, music and dance by Reshma Mahapatra, Jalandar Singh, Kannanabala Mishra, Ms. Anantika, Shanvi Sahu, Drisika Panigrahi and Rekha Senpati. The program was also very high quality and entertaining.

The members of the organizing committee, Shiv Senpati, Line Senpati, Shivranjan Biswal, Bishnu Das, Vivek Babu, Jeevan Panigarahi, Sudhakar Sahu, Reshma Mahapatra, Surendranath Acharya and Prabhati Singh played important roles in making the entire organization run smoothly. On behalf of the organizers, Manchester Council, Manchester Police and the Highways Authority were thanked for their help and cooperation in making the Rath yatra festival a huge success.
