Preeti Sudan is the new chief of UPSC

New Delhi: UPSC appointed IAS officer Preeti Sudan as the new chairman on Wednesday. Preeti will take charge on August 1.

This IAS officer of 1983 batch of Karnataka cadre will be in charge till April 2025. He has also served as Union Food Secretary.

Preety Sudan is the second woman who has become the chief of UPSC. Before this, in 1996, RM Bathu became the chief.

Notably, this post fell vacant after the resignation of former UPSC chairman Manoj Soni. He resigned citing personal reasons.
