Bhubaneswar: Vigilance has arrested OBCC Additional Chief Engineer Pradeep Rath on charges of misappropriation of assets. The vigilance officer was surprised to see the moving property of Pradeep Rath. During the raid, gold ornaments such as eye glasses were found in his house. Vigilance has seized more than KG of gold jewellery and a few kilos of silver jewellery.
Three more plots have been found during the raid in Dhenkanal. The price of which will be about 1 crore rupees. In addition, insurance deposits worth more than 74 lakhs have been received, in which the total amount deposited is more than 1.62 crores. Before this, a bank deposit of 38 million rupees has also been received. Similarly, 42 plots were allotted to Additional Chief Engineers yesterday. Out of which there are 32 in Jajpur alone. Bhubaneswar has luxurious bungalows and 2 flats while Bhadrak has 3 storey buildings.
During the raid, the vigilance seized more than 1 kg of gold jewellery and 1 kg of silver jewellery from his house. Apart from this, Babu has a crusher unit, 2 JCBs, an excavator, 2 four-wheelers, and a medical store. Vigilance team searched 12 addresses including Pradeep’s house, father’s house and office at the same time on the allegation of misappropriation of assets. Today he has been arrested and taken to court. However, in the last week, more than 10 government officials have fallen into the vigilance net.
