Number of dengue patients this year higher than last year: Public Health Director

Bhubaneswar: Dengue has become a concern since the rains started. Compared to last year, the number of dengue patients is more this year. By this time last year, 220 dengue patients were detected, while this year, 389 dengue patients have been detected in the entire state. 100 patients have been identified from Khordha, according to the information of public health director Dr. Nilakantha Mishra.

Similarly, 38 patients have been identified from Sundergarh and 33 from Balangir. However, some people of Balangir District Saitala went to work in Telangana. Dengue has spread from their family members. So far, 23 positive people have been identified from Gopbandhu Pada of Suttala alone.

While the team of health department went from Bhubaneswar and studied the situation, the patients are being treated by keeping them enclosed in mosquito nets. On the contrary, Dengue Ward has been set up in all the hospital of the state.
