Bhubaneswar: Yesterday (Wednesday) BJD has announced the list of candidates for the Assembly and Lok Sabha elections in two phases. In the first phase, the BJD has announced candidates for 72 assembly seats, out of the total 21 Lok Sabha seats, BJD has announced candidates for 15 seats in the second phase. BJD supreme Naveen Patnaik has announced the candidacy of Anshuman Mohanty from the Kendrapara Lok Sabha seat.
It has been found that Anshuman Mohanty is not satisfied with this decision of Supreme. Instead of the Lok Sabha, Anshuman expressed his interest in running for the Rajnagar assembly seat and expressed his wishes and support in front of his supporters. And he will meet the supreme of the Silence party and express his wishes. And if he fails, it is reported that he will think about some alternatives.
Anshuman is the son of Rajnagar’s 7-time MLA and two-time minister. He was the MLA of Rajnagar from 2014 to 2019. But he lost to Dharub Sahu in the 2019 election. Later, the party gave him the important responsibility of Kendrapara district president. Since 2020, he has been holding the responsibility of the president.
However, as the 2024 general election is approaching, Anshuman resigned from the post of primary member and district president two days ago in a shock to the Kendrapara Congress. Then he joined BJD on March 16th.
