Mumbai: NBW has been issued against fugitive Vijay Mallya in the bank loan case. A special CBI court in Mumbai has issued a non-bailable warrant against fugitive businessman Vijay Mallya. This NBW has been issued in the case of a loan of 180 crores from Indian Overseas Bank.
On June 29, the court had issued a non-bailable warrant against Mallya, but its order became available on July 1. After hearing the arguments of the CBI and on the basis of Vijay Mallya’s fugitive status, the court said, “This case is entirely suitable for issuing a non-bailable warrant against Mallya.” So his presence in the court can be confirmed.
The CBI court said during the hearing that investigations revealed that Vijay Mallya, the promoter of the bank airline Kingfisher, knowingly defaulted on a loan of Rs 180 crore taken from the government bank. Vijay Mallya took the loan between 2007 and 2012. Vijay Mallya has been declared a fugitive in the money laundering case being investigated by the ED. In 2016, there was a case against Vijay Mallya in the name of 10 people. Now he is in London and the Indian government is trying to extradite him from the British government.
