According to the information, the IT department has published a notification on social media platform X, saying that by linking PAN and Aadhaar before the stipulated time, one can avoid paying more tax. The last date for filing income tax returns this year is July 31. Earlier, the CBDT had also advised taxpayers to link their PAN and Aadhaar. CBDT issued this circular on April 23. It gave detailed information about the problem of not linking PAN and Aadhaar. It was said that due to not linking PAN and Aadhaar, double tax can be levied from the taxpayer. As per Section 139AA of Income Tax, every PAN card holder has to link his Aadhaar number. Otherwise the PAN card will be declared invalid.
