IPL: IYER’S KAMAL, KKR IN FINAL

Ahmedabad: In the first qualifier of the current IPL, Sunrisers Hyderabad defeated Kolkata Knight Riders by 8 wickets and entered the final. KKR achieved the target of 160 runs by losing 2 wickets in 13.4 overs. Venkatesh Iyer (51) and Shreyas Iyer (58) were unbeaten. Both performed brilliantly and played a key role in the team’s victory. Pat Cummins and T. Natarajan took one wicket each. Batting first, Hyderabad set a target of 160 runs against Kolkata Knight Riders.

The two stars of Hyderabad failed in the crucial match of the opener. In this edition, the explosive batting of these two batsmen was the main reason for the victory of the team. Travis Head failed to open the account and Abhishek Sharma was dismissed for 3 runs. Rahul Tripathi (55), Heinrich Klaasen (32) and Pat Cummins played a 30-run innings, so the team could score more than 150. Due to the failure of other batsmen, the team was all out for 159 in 19.3 overs. On behalf of KKR, Mitchell Starc took maximum 3 wickets while Varun Chakraborty took 2 wickets. Despite the defeat, Hyderabad has another chance to enter the finals.
