New Delhi: The first one-day match played between India and Sri Lanka has ended in an exciting way. In this low scoring match played in Colombo, the Indian team failed to achieve the target of 231 runs and got all out for 230 runs. Team India needed only 1 run to win and 2 wickets were left, but Sri Lankan captain Charith Asalanka got the wickets of Shivam Dube and Arshdeep Singh in 2 consecutive balls to prevent Team India from winning and the match ended in a draw. The match played at R. Premadasa Stadium in Colombo on Friday was exciting due to the dominance of the spinners. Sri Lanka batted first and scored 230 runs for the loss of 8 wickets. Young all-rounder Dunith Wellalage played a wonderful innings and scored 67 runs. Apart from this, Sri Lanka’s opener Pathum Nissanka also scored 56 runs. Similarly, Wanindu Hasaranga contributed 24 runs and brought the team to a respectable score. Akshar Patel and Arshdeep Singh took 2 wickets each for India.
