HELPLINE LAUNCHED FOR CITIZENSHIP UNDER CAA, FREE CALL FROM ANYWHERE IN THE COUNTRY

New Delhi: A helpline has been launched from Thursday for those seeking citizenship under the CAA. The spokesperson of the Ministry of Home Affairs has given this information. He said, “Helpline number 1032 has been started to help people and provide them information for citizenship under CAA.

Applicants from anywhere in the country can call this number for free from 8 am to 8 pm. A mobile app has been made available for those willing to apply for Indian citizenship under the CAA from March 15. Earlier, the Home Ministry had launched a portal for eligible persons to apply for Indian citizenship under the CAA.

It is worth noting that under the CAA, the government brought this law to grant citizenship to non-Muslim immigrants from Pakistan, Bangladesh and Afghanistan who came to India till December 31, 2014. These include Hindus, Sikhs, Jains, Buddhists, Persians and Christians.
