HEAT HAS GROWN AGAIN; BY 11:30 THE TEMPERATURE IS 42 DEGREES CELSIUS

Bhubaneswar: Heat has grown again. Busy life. By 11:30 the temperature is 42 degrees Celsius. Jharsuguda is the hottest city today with 42.8 degrees. Sambalpur is 42.2 degrees and Hirakud is 42 degrees, while Rourkela is 40.8 degrees, Keonjhar is 40.5 degrees, and Bhubaneswar is 38.8 degrees.

Forecasting that hot, humid and heat wave conditions will return to Odisha, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Wednesday directed the Office of the Special Relief Commissioner to the Health Secretary to take precautionary measures in healthcare across the state. SRC said that dry weather will prevail over the entire state. But coastal Odisha will be ravaged by storms. The state will have another 3 days of intense summer heat.

Day temperature may touch 40 degree Celsius or more in many parts of Odisha. Coastal Odisha will experience hotter and higher humidity conditions this week. The department has predicted that the maximum temperature in some districts may be 2 to 3 degrees Celsius above normal. IMD has predicted hot and humid weather till 30th in Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Puri, Khordha, Nayagarh, Ganjam and Gajapati districts. On May 29-30, there will be increased rainfall in Balangir, Sambalpur, and Nuapada districts.
