Bhubaneswar: Kubera Excise Babu was arrested. Today Vigilance has arrested Commissioner of Unemployment Department Ramchandra Mishra on the charge of misappropriation of income.
Yesterday, the vigilance raided the houses of vacant joint commissioner Ramachandra Mishra on the charge of looting of income taxed property. After the attack, they confiscated 52 plots, farm houses and rice mills worth more than 2 crores. Vigilance has arrested Ramachandra on its basis today. Later it was reported that he will be prosecuted.
It is worth noting that Bhubaneswar Unemployment Department Giant Commissioner Ramchandra Mishra has fallen into the vigilance net when he has only 8 months left to retire. A 10-member team of vigilance started a simultaneous raid at 10 places including Ramachandra Mishra’s house and office yesterday morning on the charge of evading undeclared assets.
Out of 52 plots, there are 2 in Sambalpur, 3 in Balangir and 47 in Subarnapur. Similarly, a duplex in Satsai Enclave MIG-3, Bhubaneswar, a 2 BHK flat (No.B/02) in Kharvehnagar Chandrama Complex, a 2 BHK flat (No.B-410) in Ladgarh, Badriprasad Apartments, a 3-storey building in Tikarpada, Balangir, a 1-storey building. Buildings: A two-storied building in Burla, Sambalpur district, a one-storied building in Subanpur, a rice mill in Tarva, a farm house in Subanpur. The Vigilance Technical Wing is continuing its efforts to find out the real value of these properties. In addition, bank deposits of 22 lakhs, gold ornaments of 230 grams, silver ornaments of 37 grams, 3 two-wheelers worth 11.25 lakhs, household goods and cash have been seized by vigilance.
Vigilance continues to raid many places while more than 2 crores of property has been confiscated.
