Bhubaneswar: There will be heavy rain in the state from today. In the evening, a cyclone will form over Odisha adjacent to the northwest Bay of Bengal. In 7 it will take the form of low pressure. Due to this, there will be heavy rain in the state. However, according to the Meteorological Department, there may be more rain in West Odisha. Senior meteorologist Professor Surendranath Pasupalak has made this prediction.

Under the influence of active monsoon, it will continue to rain in various districts of the state till next 9th. By Tuesday morning, heavy rain may occur in some parts of coastal and north Odisha districts including Raigarh, Kalahandi, Kandhamal, Nabarangpur, Nayagarh districts. During the next 24 hours, there is a possibility of heavy rain in Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar, Sundargarh, Jharsuguda, Bargarh, Sambalpur, Deogarh, Balasore, Bhadrak, Kendrapara, Jagatsinghpur, Cuttack, Khurda, Nabarangpur, Kalahandi, Rayagada and Keraput districts.

According to IMD estimates, Odisha is likely to experience heavy rain on 6th. Heavy to very heavy rain is likely on 7th. Sundargarh, Jharsuguda, Sambalpur and Bargarh districts may experience heavy to very heavy rain on 7th and 8th. Yellow warning has been issued today by the Regional Meteorological Center for the districts where there will be heavy rain. On the 9th, there will be rain in most parts of interior Odisha and one or two places in coastal Odisha, the Meteorological Center said.
