Drain Tragedy: Urban Development Minister on the spot, directs BMC Commissioner to report by evening

Bhubaneswar: Urban Development Minister reached Unit-3 Masjid Colony after the death of a minor drowned in a canal on Tuesday afternoon. Urban Development Minister Dr. Krishnachandra Mohapatra visited the scene today after the death of 8-year-old minor Abu Bakar Sahar. In addition, he has also reviewed.

The dead body was recovered from a canal near Laxmi Sagar Oscar City. The minister reached the spot and said why the barricade was not done, he ordered the BMC commissioner to report by evening. The minister’s response has come. He said, action will be taken against the guilty within 7 days. Urban Development Minister Dr. Krishnachandra Mohapatra has also ordered to report how many Mukula drains there are.

Similarly, the minister said that all remaining drains will be covered within 3 days. On the other hand, Bhubaneswar MP Aparajita Shadangi went to the house of the deceased yesterday and expressed his condolences. Apart from this, the state government announced to pay Rs 4 lakh as compensation to the next of kin of the deceased. Similarly, Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi expressed deep grief over the incident.
