Cuttack: Basant Kumar Das, Deputy Director of Fisheries Department, Cuttack in Vigilance Net. In the case of misappropriation of government funds, vigilance is being conducted at the house of Deputy Director of Fisheries, Basant Kumar Das. Vigilance raided 5 places including Basant Das’s house. Vigilance has started investigation in the case of misappropriation of government money above 1 crore 5 lakh rupees.
According to a notice issued by the vigilance, the raid was conducted to reveal documents related to misappropriation of amounts and investments/assets obtained from government funds. An investigation revealed that in the financial year 2024-25, money was being transferred from the government account to his own account. 1.5 crores was transferred from the government account to his personal bank account in SBI, Puri and he also withdrew it.
There was a complaint before the NY Vigilance. On the basis of the complaint, Vigilance has taken action. Deputy Director Basant Kumar Das’s old rented house in Bhubaneswar, house in Puri Tota Mahabir Lane, farmhouse near Gorula in Puri district, paternal house in Bhadrak Gobindpur, office in Cuttack are being raided.
