Death toll is rising in Bangladesh violence

Dhaka: The violence in Bangladesh over the reservation system in government jobs is getting worse. After 98 people died in the violence last week, the total number of deaths in the country has exceeded 300.

Why the protest?

The government announced 30 percent reservation in government jobs for the children of these fighters. There is a protest about that. Later this decision was overturned.

Bangladesh has 56 percent reservation in government jobs. The remaining 44 percent jobs are found on the basis of merit. However, there is no separate reservation system for Hindus in Bangladesh.
