Kolkata: The last match of India’s star player Sunil Chhetri’s international career ended on a disappointing note. India and Kuwait faced each other in the FIFA World Cup Qualifier match at the Salt Lake Stadium. This hard-fought match ended in a goalless draw. The Indian team could not send Sunil a farewell. Sunil also could not score. After the match, he took the lap of honor and became emotional. Saying goodbye to football was not easy for him.
India’s hopes of advancing to the next round have faded after the match was drawn. Now the team will lose to Qatar and will depend on the results of other matches as well. Sunil has scored 94 goals in 151 matches in his international career.
