CHEMICAL FACTORY EXPLOSION: 6 DEAD, 30 INJURED

Mumbai: A major fire broke out in a chemical factory in Maharashtra’s Thane district. A boiler burst inside the factory causing a loud explosion. The sound of the explosion was so loud that people in the surrounding area were scared. So far 6 people have died in the incident and more than 30 people are seriously injured. However, it is feared that many more people are trapped inside the factory. Some vehicles were damaged in the blast. The fire brigade has reached the spot and doused the fire.

According to information, the explosion took place in the Omega Chemical factory in Phase-II of MIDC area of Thane. While the workers were working inside the factory, an explosion occurred due to a mechanical fault in the boiler. The sound of the explosion was so intense that it was heard up to 3 km away. The windows of some houses are also reported to have been broken. This was immediately reported to the fire brigade and the police. Police and fire department personnel reached the spot and extinguished the fire and started rescue operations.

However, 6 people died in the accident and more than 30 people were injured. All have been admitted to a nearby hospital for treatment. Similarly, the police have recovered the body and sent it for autopsy. The police have started investigating the incident.
