There are about 719 illegal apartments in the state

Bhubaneswar: During the question period of the seventh day of the Assembly, Congress MLA Tara Prasad Bahinipati asked the Minister for Housing and Urban Development about the number of illegal apartments in various cities in the state and whether action has been taken against the relevant builders because these apartments were constructed without legal approval.

In response to this, Minister Krishna Chandra Mohapatra said that 719 cases have been filed against illegal construction in Bhubaneswar and other cities. Out of that 689 cases have been handled under the Bhubaneswar Development Authority. In addition, there is a legal system for taking action against the individuals or organizations who construct illegal buildings under the Odisha Development Authority Act, 1982 under Sections 90, 91, 92, said in the assembly, Housing and Urban Development Minister Krishna Chandra Mohapatra.
