Sambalpuri Shadi in ‘Mann Ki Baat’ programme, Chief Minister expressed gratitude

New Delhi: Modi addressed the people of the whole country in the 112th ‘Mann Ki Baat’ program today. Now that the Olympics are going on, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has said that the whole world is talking about the Paris Olympics. He suggested to encourage the countrymen to increase the morale of the players. Along with this, Modi spoke to Maths Olympian winner on the phone and wished them well.

In today’s ‘Mann Ki Baat’ program, Modi praised the Sambalpuri Shadi. Talking about Sambalpur sarees, Modi said, the demand for khadi and handcraft sarees is increasing in the country. Craftsmanship has carved a niche among the people. Be it Sambalpur Shadi of Odisha or Maheshwari Shadi of Madhya Pradesh, Feithani of Maharashtra, Boutique Salo of Himachal or Katansawar of Jammu and Kashmir. Artisans are scattered in every corner of the country. He also wished all the artisans. The way the demand for handicrafts has increased these days is definitely successful. The sale of handicrafts in India has increased by 400%. Also, many private companies are now using AI to promote handmade products and sustainable fashion. Modi said that the country will celebrate National Handicraft Day on August 7.

On the other hand, Chief Minister Mohan Majhi expressed his gratitude to Modi on behalf of the people of Odisha. The Chief Minister said that this effort of the Prime Minister will help in the promotion of handicrafts in Odisha and all over the country and help in the overall development of the local weavers.
