New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi was honored with Russia’s highest civilian honor ‘Order of St. Andrew the Apostle the Fast Called’. President Vladimir Putin conferred the honor on him for his outstanding efforts in promoting partnership and friendship between India and Russia.

Prime Minister Modi visited Russia on Sunday. At the invitation of Russian President Putin, Modi has discussed many important issues bilaterally. On this occasion, President Putin honored Modi as the highest citizen of Russia.

On this occasion, Modi said, this honor is not only mine, this honor belongs to 140 crore Indians. It is a reflection of the old friendship between the two countries. He further said, under the leadership of President Putin, India-Russia partnership has been strengthened in the last 25 years. We need to promote and support people-to-people partnership for a better future for both the countrymen. Efforts for peace and stability must continue. “We will work continuously in this direction,” Modi said.
