Vikram Misri is India’s new foreign secretary

New Delhi: Deputy National Security Adviser and former Ambassador Vikram Misri has been appointed as the next Foreign Secretary of the Government of India. He is an IFS officer of 1989 batch. He was working as the Deputy National Security Adviser for the last two years. He will take charge as the foreign secretary of India on July 15th. This information has been given by Ministry of Karmic.

It is worth noting that between 1991 and 1996, Vikram Misri work in various positions in the Indian missions in Brussels and Tunisia. In 1997, he was appointed as the private secretary of the then Prime Minister Inder Kumar Gujral. After that, he has work in the Prime Minister’s Office and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs multiple times. In addition, he has work in various missions of India abroad.

In 2012, Vikram Misri was appointed as the private secretary of the then Prime Minister Manmohan Singh. Even after Narendra Modi became the Prime Minister, he work in that position.
