Anthrax outbreak was detected in Koraput, 2 infected people were ordered to stay in isolation

Koraput: An anthrax outbreak has occurred in Koraput district’s Padeiguda village. 2 people have been diagnosed with anthrax in this village. The CDMO’s office has informed about the detection of these 2 anthrax outbreaks.

According to information, anthrax patients have been detected again in Koraput district after a few days. The symptoms of this disease were seen in some people in Padeiguda village. Samples of 6 people suspected of anthrax were sent to the Health Department. It has been reported that 2 patients have been diagnosed. According to the information received, these 2 infected people have been ordered to stay in isolation.

Anthrax is caused by contact with spores of the bacteria in contaminated animal products. People who work with animals or people who handle animal products are more at risk of this disease. It is worth noting that two people were diagnosed with anthrax in Dasmantpur block area in the last few days. However, after treatment, they seem to have recovered. Similarly, two anthrax patients were identified in Khalkana village of Odiyapenth panchayat of Lakshmipur block. Three or four people were infected earlier. After treatment, they seem to have recovered.
