Imphal: Manipur Chief Minister N Biren Singh’s Kanbhaya was shot at. It has been reported that the shooting was carried out by suspected terrorists from Kuki community in Kangpoki district. Two security personnel were injured in this incident. However, the chief minister was not present in Konbai at the time of the shooting.
According to information, Chief Minister Biren Singh was scheduled to visit the violence-hit Jiribam district of Manipur on Tuesday. Earlier, an advance security team was sent to the said station. Suspected terrorists opened fire on the convoy near Kotlen village in Kangpokpi district while the security personnel were on their way. The security guards also retaliated.
Two security guards were injured. While they were treated, one was referred to Imphal Hospital as his condition was critical.
It is worth noting that after a gap of a few days, violence has been seen in Manipur again on Sunday. Two police outposts, one forest office and 70 houses were burnt down in Jiribam district. Chief Minister Biren Singh was scheduled to visit there on Tuesday to assess the situation of the violence.
